Standard Milga contains 40 mg benfotiamine, 60 mg pyridoxine, and 250 mcg cyanocobalamin per tablet. Milga Advance contains higher amounts of benfotiamine (300 mg) and pyridoxine (100 mg), while cyanocobalamin remains 250 mcg. The two products should not be treated as dose-for-dose equivalents.
The appropriate dose depends on the exact product and the reason for use. Standard Milga and Milga Advance have different strengths. Long-term high intake of vitamin B6 should be avoided unless medically supervised because excessive pyridoxine can itself cause sensory neuropathy.
Follow the directions for the exact product. If the tablets upset your stomach, taking them with food may improve tolerance. A single food-timing rule should not be applied to every Milga formulation without checking the product instructions.
Possible effects can include nausea, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness, or allergic skin symptoms. Swelling of the face or tongue or difficulty breathing requires urgent medical attention. The most important long-term safety point is to avoid unnecessary high-dose pyridoxine, because chronic excess vitamin B6 may cause tingling, numbness, or sensory nerve damage.
High-dose vitamin supplements should not be assumed to be automatically safe in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Requirements change during these periods, and a healthcare professional should review the exact strengths and any other supplements being taken.
