Somazina Supra 100 Mg/ml Oral Drops 30 Ml

Somazina is a medication containing citicoline as its active ingredient. Used to support and maintain cognitive and mental functions and may be prescribed for elderly patients, as well as to aid neurological recovery following stroke or head injuries.

The recommended adult dose is 500–2,000 mg daily, depending on the severity of the condition. No specific dose adjustment is generally required for elderly patients.

Side effects are very rare and may include headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, occasional diarrhea, flushing, urticaria or skin rash, increased or decreased blood pressure, shortness of breath, chills, edema, and, rarely, hallucinations.

Somazina should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to citicoline or any of its ingredients, or in patients with parasympathetic hypertonia.

Store the medicine in its original packaging and keep it out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the package.

Citicoline may enhance the effects of levodopa (L-Dopa); therefore, concomitant use should be discussed with a healthcare professional. Citicoline should not be administered together with medicines containing meclofenoxate (centrophenoxine).

There are insufficient data regarding the use of citicoline during pregnancy. Therefore, Somazina should generally not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless considered necessary by a physician, when the expected therapeutic benefit outweighs the potential risk.
