Medical Description
Topical corticosteroid used in the treatment of psoriasis and corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Indication & Usage
Betaderm cream is indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, such as:
Eczema (atopic, contact, seborrheic)
Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis)
Allergic and inflammatory skin conditions
Insect bite reactions

Dosage & Administration
Apply a thin layer to the affected area 1–2 times daily
Gently rub until absorbed
Use for the shortest duration possible
Avoid occlusive dressings unless directed by a physician
Side Effects
Local:
Burning, itching, irritation
Dryness
Skin atrophy
Striae
Telangiectasia
Hypopigmentation
Systemic (rare, with prolonged/excessive use):
Suppression of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis
Cushing’s syndrome (especially in children)
Safety Advice
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to betamethasone or formulation components
Viral, fungal, or bacterial skin infections without appropriate therapy
Acne vulgaris
Rosacea
Perioral dermatitis
Precautions
Avoid prolonged use, especially on face, groin, or axilla
Use caution in children (higher systemic absorption)
Do not apply to large body areas
Avoid contact with eyes

Store below 25°C
Keep tightly closed
Protect from heat and light
Drug Interactions
No significant interactions with topical use
Increased risk of systemic effects if combined with other potent topical corticosteroids over large areas
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: Use only if benefit outweighs risk; avoid prolonged or extensive use
Lactation: Use with caution; avoid application on breast area before breastfeeding
