Ovarian Cyst Rupture

الوصف

Ovarian Cyst Rupture

A ruptured ovarian cyst is an ovarian cyst, which is a fluid-filled sac that bursts open. Even while it occasionally doesn't cause issues, this can be serious and necessitate hospitalization. A ruptured cyst may be the cause of an unexpected, severe lower abdominal ache that occasionally includes nausea and vomiting.

الأعراض

Ovarian cysts of small to moderate size that rupture is often painless. The lower tummy or back may, however, experience quick, severe discomfort from larger cysts that explode. Usually, the pain is worst on one side.

  •        Bleeding or spotting in the vagina.
  •        Abdominal bloating
  •        Extreme nauseousness or vomiting
  •        Fever
  •        Dizziness or faintness

There are certain symptoms that require immediate medical care, such as.

  •        Heavy bleeding coupled with dizziness.
  •        Shortness of breath
  •        An arrhythmic heartbeat
  •        Extreme pain that does not go away after a period of rest.

If you have any of these symptoms visit a Gynaecologist to be diagnosed and treated properly.

الأسباب

The majority of ovarian cysts are common and naturally form during a person's menstrual cycle. Most of them are benign and safe. The following are plausible causes :

  •        Large cysts
  •        sexual activity
  •        Abdominal trauma
  •        Intense exercise

Anticoagulation therapy : medications that aid in the prevention of blood clots

التشخيص

  •       Pregnancy test
  •       Complete blood work up : to check for anemia or ovarian cancer biomarkers.
  •       Urine tests : to rule out kidney stones or urinary tract infections.
  •       Endocervical swabs : This test checks for pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
  •       Pelvic ultrasound : if it reveals a mass and fluids in the pelvis, it may indicate a ruptured ovarian cyst.
  •       CT or MRI scanning
  •       Laparoscopy for diagnostic purposes

العلاج

If a patient’s complete blood count is normal and vital signs are stable after an ovarian cyst ruptures, there is often no need for treatment.

  •        Pain medication : to alleviate the discomfort.
  •        Rest : to allow the symptoms to resolve completely.
  •        Hospitalization is required if the ruptured ovarian cyst is causing severe bleeding.
  •        Surgery : to stop the bleeding and prevent further blood loss.
